Before you choose a freelancing training center in Sylhet, it helps to know what good training feels like from the inside. Brochures all say "practical" and "expert mentors". This article shows what that means in a real week of class at FreelancerLab, why we run it that way, and how to decide between classroom and online learning.
What a week looks like
In-person batches meet three days a week at our Zindabazar campus. Each class has three parts.
Review
We start with the previous assignment. The mentor puts real student work on the projector and explains what is good and what to change. Seeing other people's mistakes is one of the fastest ways to learn, and it is something you cannot get from a video.
New material, built live
The mentor builds something in front of you and you build alongside on your own laptop. Questions are answered as they come up, not saved for the end.
An assignment you will be asked about
Every class ends with a practical task. The days between classes are for doing it. Progress comes from those hours, not from the class itself.
Why the room matters
Around one long table, a mentor can see when you are stuck before you say so. Students help each other, and the habit of asking questions carries over into client work. The batch becomes part of how you learn.
What "practical" should mean
- You finish complete projects, not disconnected exercises
- Your work is looked at and corrected by a person
- Tasks resemble real client requests
- You practise explaining your work, because clients will ask
From training to work
Skill alone does not bring clients. The last phase of each course covers a portfolio, a Fiverr gig, an Upwork profile, proposals and client communication. In-person courses then continue into a two-month internship on real work, where you practise under supervision before you are on your own.
Classroom or online?
- Choose the classroom if you live in or near Sylhet and learn better with people around you
- Choose online if travel or working hours make a fixed place impossible
- In both, look for live classes, a way to ask questions and recordings for revision
Our online web development course runs live in the evening, with recordings of every class.
What you need to bring
- A laptop that can run a browser and a code editor
- Time for assignments on the days between classes
- Patience with yourself in the first month, when everything is new
No earlier experience is needed. Classes start from the basics.
What to look for when you visit any training center
- Is a class actually running, and are students building something?
- Does the mentor walk around and look at screens?
- Are students comfortable asking questions?
- Can you see finished projects from earlier batches?

See it for yourself
The simplest way to judge a training center is to sit in it. Join a free masterclass, watch how the mentor handles questions, and talk to the students at the table. You can also look at photos of the room on our campus page.
